Choosing where to stay is a big part of planning your Efteling trip, and the good news is that the park has some genuinely lovely on‑site options that make the whole experience feel even more magical. Which Efteling accommodation is the cheapest?

Generally, Efteling Loonsche Land is the cheapest on‑site option, especially for families. It offers great value, cosy woodland‑style rooms and lodges, and still includes early entry and easy access to the park. Efteling Bosrijk is usually the next step up in price, with larger houses and apartments. The Wonder Hotel tends to be more expensive than the villages, and the Efteling Grand Hotel is the premium, highest‑priced option.

The closest accommodation – Efteling Grand Hotel

This hotel is the newest at Efteling, and it’s so close to the theme park that it’s actually situated inside it. This one comes with the highest price tag as it’s the most luxurious of all the stays. It offers a true fairytale‑meets‑boutique‑hotel experience right at the edge of the park. With elegant rooms, beautiful views and direct access to the attractions, it’s perfect for families who want comfort, convenience and a little extra magic. It’s an ideal choice if you want a premium stay without losing the warmth and charm that Efteling is known for.

The hotel has elegant dining at Brasserie 7 and also at Restaurant-Bar Mystique, plus the cosy Café Biscuit for coffee and treats. On-site, there is a relaxing pool and spa area ideal for unwinding after a day of exploring. Rooms at the Grand Hotel include a range of premier deluxe rooms, which can sleep up to 6 people.

Premium Deluxe – This spacious room sleeps up to six, with one luxurious double bed and two bunk beds. The modern bathroom features a walk‑in shower and all the thoughtful touches you’d expect, including exclusive Efteling Grand Hotel toiletries, soft towels and cosy bathrobes. There are tower rooms which can sleep up to 5 people and junior suites with a separate bedroom.

Junior Suite – 1 Separate Bedroom – This suite features a comfortable sitting area, a luxurious double bed, and a separate bedroom with a single bed and a fun bunk bed. The beds are thoughtfully prepared for a great night’s sleep, and the modern bathroom includes a walk‑in shower, plush towels, cosy bathrobes and exclusive Efteling Grand Hotel toiletries for an added touch of luxury.

Excellence Tower Suite – The largest suite in the hotel, this impressive 64 m² Tower Suite features three separate bedrooms and sleeps up to six people. There’s a private living room with a comfortable seating area, perfect for unwinding together with a drink from the minibar while chatting about the day. Two bedrooms include luxurious double beds, while the third has a cosy alcove with a bunk bed.

The second closest to the theme park – Wonder Hotel

The Wonder Hotel features 22 beautifully themed suites, along with comfort rooms and spacious Junior Suites designed for families. Stays include a generous buffet breakfast, and there’s the option to enjoy dinner in the hotel’s restaurant or pick up snacks and drinks from the bar throughout the day. Children are well catered for; the restaurant area includes an interactive Dream Navigator play experience, while the lobby has engaging screens and games that keep little ones entertained during downtime.

Comfort Rooms – The most affordable option at the Wonder Hotel, these rooms sleep either three or up to five people. The larger layout includes a spacious double bed, bunk beds and a pull‑out single, making them a practical choice for families who want comfort without the higher price tag.

Junior Suites – These spacious tower suites sleep up to five people and offer plenty of room to unwind. Each suite includes two comfortable double beds plus a pull‑out single, making them ideal for families who want extra space without moving up to a themed suite.

Themed Suites – With 20 themed suites to choose from, the hardest part is deciding which magical world to stay in. Options range from the two‑bedroom Raveleijn Suite to the dramatic Flying Dutchman Suite with its captain’s lounge, and the charming Cinderella Suite, complete with pumpkins and cauldrons. There are whimsical choices too, like the cosy Laaf Suite with its kettle‑shaped bed, the Hans Christian Andersen Suite with its mini fairy‑tale museum, and the Fairytale Tree Suite, which sleeps up to five in a tower room.

Efteling Bosrijk

Bosrijk offers holiday homes, family rooms and group accommodation spread across a large, peaceful woodland setting. Guests can park for free at the entrance to the village, with a 10‑minute walk or courtesy shuttle taking you to the theme park. On‑site, you’ll find a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, a bar, playgrounds dotted around the grounds and even the chance to spot Mr Sandman in his sandcastle on the lake.

Guests staying in Bosrijk also have access to Het Badhuys, the village’s indoor water play area, which includes a paddling pool, a toddler pool, a 130 cm deep pool and various water play features. It’s exclusively for Bosrijk guests and guests of the Wonder Hotel, making it a calm and convenient spot for families to unwind.

Holiday Homes – Bosrijk has six different holiday home styles, ranging from cosy village houses to more luxurious woodland options, with standard and luxury versions available; some even include a private sauna. These homes sleep between six and eight people. One of the standout choices is the Luxury Lakeside House for up to six guests, featuring three bedrooms across two floors, a lakeside setting, an outdoor sauna, a bathroom with a jacuzzi and a handy kitchenette.

Family Rooms – The family rooms in the Landhuys building feel more like a modern, cosy hotel stay, even though Efteling doesn’t label it as one. They’re close to all the main facilities and include a living/bedroom with a seating area, TV, small fridge and tea and coffee facilities, plus a separate bedroom with bunk beds. Breakfast is included, making them an easy and convenient option for families.

Group Accommodation – For larger groups of 12–24 people, Bosrijk offers spacious, detached woodland houses with fully equipped kitchens and a choice of layouts. The 12‑person houses include six bedrooms (one with an en‑suite), two additional bathrooms, three separate toilets and a large living space with two seating areas, a generous dining area and access to a private terrace, ideal for groups wanting plenty of room to spread out.

Efteling Loonsche Land Hotel

Situated in the middle of nature, the Loonsche Land Hotel offers a peaceful stay just a 10‑minute walk from Efteling’s main entrance, with a courtesy bus running most days. The hotel’s restaurant, De Proeftuyn, is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner or simply a drink, and all hotel stays include breakfast as standard.

The wider Loonsche Land village has several outdoor play areas and a small animal enclosure, giving kids plenty to explore beyond the park. The hotel has 75 rooms and three room types to choose from, all designed with families in mind and surrounded by the calm, woodland setting that makes this area so popular.

Rooms at the Loonsche Land Hotel – There are three family‑friendly room types. The standard Hotel Room sleeps up to five, with two single beds each topped by a bunk and an additional single‑and‑bunk setup connected by a central staircase. The larger Hotel Room #2 sleeps up to six, featuring a double bed separated by a heavy curtain and two bunks over two single beds in the main area. The Adapted Hotel Room also sleeps six and includes an accessible bathroom, an extra bedroom with a double bed and shower, and a wheelchair‑friendly space on both sides of the main bed, with heavy curtains dividing the areas for privacy.

Efteling Holiday Village Loonsche Land

In the same area as the Loonsche Land hotel, you will find our favourite place to stay, the Holiday Village Loonsche Land. Depending on where your holiday house is located, you’ll be around a 10–15 minute walk from Efteling’s main entrance. The courtesy bus runs from the stop opposite the lake near the hotel entrance and operates for most of the year. You can choose to park at the theme park for a fee. The houses themselves are simple, cosy and built from natural materials, blending beautifully into the woodland setting. Each ‘holiday house’ has its own kitchen and separate bedrooms, making it a great option for families who want more space and flexibility.

Holiday House – The Low‑allergen Holiday House is tucked among the greenery and designed for guests with sensitivities, using a microfibre cleaning method and sturdy allergen‑free curtains to separate the rooms. It also includes its own kitchen for easy self‑catering. The standard Holiday House offers the same cosy layout and natural, woodland feel, just without the low‑allergen features.

Also at Loonsche Land, there is a range of themed holiday rooms in the village. They are individual buildings, but they do not have a kitchen area, so breakfast is provided in the hotel restaurant. Options with no kitchen are:

The Themed Room Tree sleeps 4–6 people and sits on stilts among the treetops, with two curtained sleeping areas and wooden footbridges linking the houses. The Themed Room Water sits right on the waterfront and is suitable for 4–6 guests, offering peaceful views and a cosy, self‑contained layout. The Themed Room Dune also sleeps up to six and features a small terrace overlooking the dunes, with a double bed in the living area and a curtained bedroom with three single beds. Each option gives families a fun, nature‑themed stay just a short walk from the park.

Where we have stayed at Efteling

Loonsche Land Village – 2-bedroom holiday house – This is our favourite, so far. We stayed in a dune house with a grass roof overlooking a small lake, which made for a really peaceful setting. Inside, it had a bright living area, a comfy sofa and beanbag, a dining table and a small but well‑equipped kitchenette with a dishwasher and high chair. The two bedrooms had simple layouts with curtains instead of doors and limited storage, but linen and towels were provided. Our patio was lovely in the evenings, and we also enjoyed a great meal at the Loonsche Land Hotel. There’s a small shop on‑site too for gifts, toiletries and ice creams.

Wonder Hotel – We chose the Raveleijn Suite, the only suite at this hotel with two separate bedrooms. It has a hidden turret room revealed through a bookcase door with sound and light effects. This hotel has had a major upgrade since we stayed, although the rooms have remained unchanged. It is quite close to a road, so it’s not as quiet as some of the other accommodation options.

When we return (hopefully very soon), we are planning on treating ourselves and staying at the Efteling Grand Hotel. At the end of the day, Efteling’s most luxurious hotel is cheaper than an equivalent stay at Disneyland Paris!
